checking out the view

Posted on

10 am. i've been up for a few hours, but the day isn't really inducing me to move, though i do have a few things to accomplish on my to-do list. there is also the usual fussing around the house. no bonbons and soap operas for me. *giggle* (did people ever do that, really?)

so, let's see what the ladies on the view are yapping about today. it is one my secret guilty pleasures, although sometimes i find them exasperating. generally, the mixture of "views" seems to give balance to most topics they cover.

oh look, it's about dogs, how appropos. bernadette peters is on with her dog kramer; promoting her charity broadway barks. he's barking and barking in his big outside voice. at first it was sort of charming, but it gets old as the panel gamely attempts to talk over him. the thought flits through my head that i wouldn't want to live next to her.

other segments of the episode include a viewer mutt show and a few dogs up for adoption are also being showcased. the animals are all beautiful, charming, composed and calm. i can't imagine any of these dogs ending up in a shelter on a list for euthanasia. my favourite is a little schnauzer mix, miss suzie. i want to scoop her up and run home. part of me wants a small dog, but i don't know if i am ready for that 24/7 responsibility. besides, i'm sure bijou was a dog in another life. she's my precious little girl even if she has wickedly stinky breath!
